Overdose Prevention and Response
The overdose crisis has evolved over time and is now largely driven illicitly manufactured synthetic opioids, including fentanyl. Other drugs such as stimulants, and the adulteration of the drug supply with xylazine have contributed to overdose rates.
BCDAC, Inc. addresses the overdose crisis by working closely with our network of prevention and treatment providers, recovery supports, community organizations, hospitals, law enforcement and many others. Evidence-based treatments such as medications for opioid and alcohol use are available throughout Bucks County. In addition to free Narcan for overdose reversal, we now offer free testing strips to check for the presence of fentanyl or xylazine.
